Default Locking/Protecting Images

Is there any other way to lock or protect your images besides watermarking? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It also won't protect your photos in google images. All you have to do is go to the page where the image is actually located and you can still grab it. Happened to a friend. sadface

The only way to keep it from being accessible (except the screen capture method) is to get it into flash. I'm just learning how to use the programs to do this...

Thanks for sharing the right click function. Some people aren't smart enough after they try that to know about the "other" ways to steal them. I'm going to add that to my website.

We use digimarc. It is a bit costly, however, but it does work. Using Photoshop, you can digitally imprint a code into each picture. That code remains, even if the picture is renamed, resized, or altered in any way. Digimarc then uses its software to spidercrawl the web for your codes and reports back to you the ip addresses and locations of your photos.

It's costly but effective.

If your worried about your images being used elsewhere, you could also do a reverse image search. Of course you would have to do it on all of your images individually and every few months or so as teh program may not be able to find right away. If you have a few, it may be helpful just to check every once in a awhile.

Oops I forgto to add the link for reverse image searches smile

www.tineye.com is a good one. You upload your image and it will see if it is anywhere else on teh web. Not sure of the schematics or what it uses to track but its worth a shot?!?
