Default Camera suggestions ??

I am in desperate need of a new camera. Does anyone have any recommendations ? I know I need an SLR, I've been looking at the
Nikon D3000 & the Rebel.

Also, where would I find some of the "backgrounds" for photos ? I saw
a photo today that had been edited to a cloud background.

I have a Canon 30D and love it. I know the new ones are a Canon 50D. Great camera!

Is the Rebel user friendly ? Like many others I don't have time to set
down and read a 500 page manual to figure it out, lol. For some reason
it looks intimidating to me ??

Thanks,
Melissia

I just got a Rebel t1i and LOVE it. Can use out of the box, but, will have to familiarize yourself with the functions once you have time.

I shoot auto pretty much all the time with my d40x. I also have a d50 and love them!!! More important than the camera is the lens.

That's what I have now. Yep, pull it out of the box and go!

The Rebel is a pretty good camera, I have a friend that has one and the pictures come out great. I agree with Richardson42, the lens is the most important part of the camera, that is what pretty much decides what the outcome of your picture will be. Good luck!
