Default Photography Learning Thread (CALLING ANY ONE WHO WANTS TO LEARN)

Okay so I know a lot of people want to spiff up there photography skills (me included). I thought that it would be great to make this thread where I will post the info for the week for us to learn and then a challenge for us to do to practice what we learn.
I will do the research for each week and post what I have found to help us learn that lesson of the week and then we will go off to do our challenges each week so we can have hands on experience. We will post of pictures for that challenge on a thread created for that!

Does this sound good???

Other than the basics I will post what are you interested in learning???

You da bomb! I was just goggling stuff on the internet at work to learn. I would like to know how to edit out the background and just pull out my item but to have soft edges, not where you can see it looked like I cut and pasted it and all harsh. I wouldn't mind learning also how to make a picture black and white and then have my item in color. I can go on and on. I was thinking about taking a class here in town for this but I can't fit it into my schedule. You rock!

What you asked for would be more editing that actually taking pictures...how about we start with the taking pictures and then we add this too!

I don't mind adding this in this thread at all I know many can benefit from adding it!

one important part of pics, is lighting. Natural light is better than flash. I would be willing to give some tips on that!

I agree, but over here we don't get much natural light. I would love to learn to take better photos with a flash.

I will cover lighting indoors and outdoors. In my opinion I like pictures of products on the model for the front page of site and here and there around the site but I perfer to see clear pictures of the products which I want to buy...when shopping around.
