We had a section on one of my old boards and it was sooo helpful. I'd like to learn everything manual-I just can't read from a book and understand it all very well-I like the hands on! I have a ton of accessories for my camera, but just don't know how to use them

Lighting is always an issue for me because indoors, I have zero natural light. In all of the houses we've lived in, I've never had good natural light come in and in fact this house is so dark it drives me nuts sometimes...and living in Ohio, it's hard to get outside unless I can do it in about 5 minutes before Brynn's nose turns pink

Outdoor lighting is the best but I would like to learn how to use my light cube and tungsten lights to their best ability. I have a deflector that I used when I am taking photos outside. Love it so much. I still need to figure out when is the best time of day to take the photos so I don't have to do so much shadow remvoing. I like a little bit of shadow. Right now I have to delete my background and then come back and manually remove the shadows which is a PITA. The less editing I have to do the more time I have doing other projects.

Here is a sample:

This is without the editing:

This is with the background removal:

I'd also love to learn to edit out the backgrounds and even fix colours a little. For some reason my purples never look right.

Yay for this thread! Looking forward to learning new stuff and trying out the light tent hubby got me for my bday!
