UCH..........I feel your pain
I can't stand taking the pictures and trying to get them to look good. It's the hardest part of all of this. I have LOADS of stuff to add to Etsy and having to take the pics is putting me off![]() MAeve

I was just coming on to find a suggestion for a program to edit these stinking pics. I am resigned to taking them on a white background so that I don't have to edit them!! My hubby bought me a light box for taking pics and that didn't seem to help either. I have been taking pics all my life and thought I was decent until now!!!
I am thinking of selling my camera and getting the one I really wanted in the first place. If I sell my SLR film camera and my digital camera, I can probably swing it. Probably won't help! |

Drives me insane ...especially since the only time I can get pictures taken are when its late at nite when the kids are sleeping and then especially....YOU CAN NEVER Get a good pic in darker lighting...sheesh...I need a photobox or something....would make things sooo much easier.

I am right there with ya! I have a BUNCH to add to my site...all of my old stuff is on there still and it is taking forever!!! I know once I get it on there it will be easier to maintain but I never have time anymore to just sit there and edit so that I can get them on there....barely have time to upload sometimes or they are sitting in my camera still

I have TONS of stuff I need to list on Etsy but I just can't ever find time to take pics. I cannot take pics at night. They come out so crappy. The only time they look good is when I take them outside and my LO keeps me so busy during the day that I don't have the time. Naptime is when I try and straighten up my house. I try to get a lot done on the weekends when DH is there all day but our last few weekends have been soooo busy. I guess I am gonna start having to bring her pack and play out there and snap pics while she's playing. Life just needs to slow down a little so I can get some work done!! I actually like editing them though. It's just getting the pics taken in the first place!

GIRL, you just don't know how this thread is so on the nose for me right now! I just started my site last week, and it is already driving me up the wall!!!! I HATE IT!!!! I bet I spent 2 hours Sunday night just trying to get 1 good picture of 1 koozie!!!!
I despise it and have no other choice but to do it myself cause of funds. I am using Picnik, and I have to say that is the best free editing site I have found. But, I still hate doing it.

Try this:
-Get a white sheet or big piece of craft foam, and a dining room chair. Go outside, put the chair in the sun or bright shade, and drape the chair with the cloth or use craft foam. -Set up your item on the sheet. Put something under the sheet to prop it up if you need to. -Take your picture. If you have one, use a tripod. If not, look into getting at least a small one. This will help LOADS when it comes to focusing the camera and prevents camera shake. -Use Picnik. I LURVE it! Here's my process for that: -tweak exposure and contrast -check color saturation & adust if needed -Use a filter if it calls for it (I LOVE lomo, holga, and ortonish, as well as selective color) -resize while saving the file (saves a step) -Voila! I save a ton of time this way. |
