Thank you all for the suggestions. If it has the macro setting, I'm not sure how to use it. I've tried looking up the instructions online also. Why does something so easy have to be so difficult lol. I'm in California and I swear it's at least 100 degress outside. I'm frying! Anyways, I am standing up to take these pictures. I have done as other suggested and tried standing up and not zooming in so far. Here's the most recent one (taken in the shade and standing up):

The macro button on your camera should look like a tulip. I had this same problem before I got my new camera. HTH.

attached is a picture, i think it's your camera. i just googled images.
it should be the bottom button on the wheel, where the tulip is. if you press it, it should change from auto to macro to manual. press it until you see the tulip on your screen. HTH.

You ladies are so awesome. I feel so stupid, I had been searching everywhere for that tulip symbol. On the top of my camera are a bunch of settings to change the picture to landscape, kids and pets, outdoor, indoor etc. Thats where I had been trying to change it to macro. Never realized the big tulip was staring me right in the face on the screen the whole time. Well I can't say picture taking is getting any better. I still keep trying everywhere. Since changing to macro setting, I've tried the windowsill, outside, the light box I made with the side light every which way, etc. Here is another pic - this is the best I can do so far. I am determined to get this right. I have a TON of bottle caps I need to list in my Etsy store and I can't get this figured out. Thank you all for continuing to try to help me!

their a little dark. you might have to edit the bottle caps themselves until they look like what they look like in person! i know on my camera the colors are off a little so i edit until i get to the truer colors.
attached is the photo you took and i tweaked. tell me if it looks a little more like the real thing

Wow that looks great, so much better than the photo I took. I have photoshop, can I adjust the image in there? I've tried adusting lighting, color etc. IDK, it all looks horrible to me. Can someone please look at me Etsy shop because on there the pics are definatley to dark. I have more stuff to list but I'm not happy with the pics so I'm kinda at a standstill! The shop is designsbycristi.etsy.com

I am still trying. Here's another one taken outside this time. Definately getting a little bit better but now I have shadows. I'm headed out again to try to stand with my back to the sun!
