Default adding the center knot

ok im not sure what im doing wrong. i use my bow maker ,fold it and secure it with flower wire and work the bow til it lays how i want it and and then sew it. (remove the wire) but when i add the center knot it messes up my bow like my pinwheel. i cant figure out what im doing wrong. any ideas?

maybe your knot is too big? if i use 7/8" for the bow, I'll use 5/8" for the knot. I also like to fold the ribbon in half before tying the knot to make it more stable. does that make sense? LOL

Also, don't use the knot to 'tie' the bow together. Just glue it. I use the thread to create my tightness. However, there are some bows, depending on the type of ribbon, that I have to play with more than others. Good luck!

can you explain a little more. do you wrap it around the bow completely?
