Default Box to take photos in?

OKay, my sister told me a few weeks ago that she saw something for taking pictures of your stuff to sell. She said it was a box with a light in it (or something like that). She said it was about $50. I want to have something where I make all my pictures look the same (in the same lighting). Taking them outside is fine, but I have to time it just right and now that it is winter I hate going out in the cold or when it is snowing.

Does anybody know what I am talking about? If so, what is it?

Michelle - how do you get all your pictures in the same lighting?

We bought a light kit at wal-mart for $50. Had the tent, two lights, tri-pod (peice of crap) and the black/blue backdrop. It's ok I guess. The lights are compact and convienient, BUT they are yellow. I thought I would buy this kit, and wha-la instant perfect picture. NOPE.

This sounds like a better idea to me. Found it in another post.

How to Make A Inexpensive Light Tent

Hipgirl posted something (can't find it now) about lighting. And WHITE light compared to yellow light. It really helped me I found some DAYlight bulbs at walmart for $6.50 for two. Whatever you do... buy those.

OK. I will stop writing now. Just venting my half attempts at fumbling to finding a solution also

I added an index thread in 'picture perfect' forum. You might want to check out the 1st post in the index.

I made a light box myself. I also bought a light tent but I don't have time to use either of them. Most of the time, I just put the object by the window and use natrual light. I edit almost every image in photoshop--I commute 2 hours on the train.

Thanks Michelle! When I get time tomorrow I am going to try and work on reading up on everything. I am too tired and am starting to feel my second cold coming on (just had one two weeks ago that lasted for 2 1/2 weeks - arggh).
