Default Photographing Clothes, Children and Gingham

What is the best way to photograph clothing to achieve the white background/floating appearance? I read and saw directions on making a light tent or cube but the clothes I make won't fit into one of those and I would like to take pictures of my little girl wearing the clothes (like the catalogs). Also any recommendations on photographing gingham? It tends to not photograph well for me; I love and have alot of items made from gingham.

I know what you are talking about with photographing gingham. Something happens to it. I would love to know how to photograph gingham also.

Thanks Jen. I will try that. I had no idea gingham would be so hard to photograph.

My daughter gets her best pics of the babies outside. Of course, depending on where you live, this is not a good time of year for sunshine.
