Default Home made light box

Hello. I'm new here and with all the great info supplied to me, I wanted to contribute to this great forum. I wasn't sure if this has already been shared, but I found this web site with instructions on how to make a simple & inexpensive homemade light box used to photograph your small items. If you struggle with dark pictures or your detail is washed out, this may be something for you to try. I hope you can find this useful

Hi

You can also use a translucent white plastic box, bin or even a lampshade! The whole idea is to get the light in the box reflected evenly, and to diffuse direct glare.

I love love love my plastic box! I lined the base with white paper, shine my table lamp above (wrapped with a thin white cotton fabric if the glare is too much) and take pictures of my bows or whatever I want to take.

Here are some images to show - The blue bow was taken against a white background, and the lilac bow was taken against a blue background (for easier editing purposes)

HTH!

Angela,
Those are great detailed pictures! what do you use to edit them? I tried the photo plus that was recommended on another thread, however it doesn't work on my Mac.

Well, I don't know a lot about photography, but I know if you use one, especially on small items, the pictures turn out clear with more visible detail & better color as well. By the way, I found the poster board to make the one in the link above at Dollar Tree today. I'll let you know how it turns out
