Default Real Models VS ???

I was just wondering what everyone prefers to use (and why) to take pictures of their bows & things. I have one of those old Barbie doll heads you used to brush their hair & play beauty shop with. And I've also tried to make a small light box. Just wondering if using real people helps more or makes buyers weary because someone else has worn the accessory?

I believe most people that use live models give what they wear to the models. I have only used my granddaughters or friends.

I like to use models because it makes my page look more professional, and plus, I can't take pictures for the life of me, LOL! When I use a model, I send the bow to them to keep, and make another one to sell.

I think both "real models" and "actual item alone" works for me (this is my viewpoint as an online buyer). Baby and toddler models, I must admit, helps add to the cuteness. But there are times I would like to see the item up close so a close up (zoomed in) photo would really be helpful. Most handmade items have beautiful small details that the online buyer might not be able to appreciate or see when it's on a model. So I am for a combination of real models and actual item. The former for the over-all impact and the latter for the workmanship appreciation

as an online browser (lets face it...i never buy. i just make, lol), i don't even stop scrolling for items that are modeled on fake heads, or even worse...a stuffed animal. i like light box views for detailed images, and i like live model views so i can see how it wears. anything other than that, i don't give a second look....

i don't mean to sound harsh or stuck up, but i just wanted to give a clear idea of how i look at product images, and i'm only speaking for myself, as i'm sure different shoppers like different images <3
