Angry Stolen photo!!

So I am new to the facebook business page and needed some fans so I donated a few items to different auctions going on. Today I was on my personal page and one of the boutiques I have posted something about new Easter clippies and I clicked on it and it was MY picture of a bunny and carrot clip that I was auctioning but the bunny had been cropped out and her watermark had been put on it. I nicely commented on the picture that i would appreciate it if she was going to use my picture, that she give my boutique credit and it was taken down immediately (which I do appreciate) but at the same time isn't it kind of false advertising to use someone elses pictures and have your customers thinking its going to look a certain way and then they get it and its completely different. It's partially my fault for not watermarking with my business name but I guess I was naive in thinking people were honest.. Granted I definitely do not have a patent on the clippie and got the idea myself online somewhere but changed it up of course not to completely copy someone elses idea but I would never use someone else's picture because I didn't make what was in the picture!!! Had to vent a little sorry

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I'm new to all of this and I haven't really thought about watermarking my photos either. I guess it is something I should be doing. Hopefully she learned a lesson and won't steal photos from others anymore. That is crazy that she is advertising something she didn't make. As a costumer, I would be very upset to get something that didn't look like what was advertised.

This is a REALLY great watermark website...! I paid for the Pro version and use it ALL the time...Sorry that happened to you. It happens a lot actually, even to watermarked photos. It is still best to get all your stuff watermarked to discourage it from happening.

Yes, I agree with ForYouBlue. Watermarking OVER your actual product is really the only way to keep people from stealing photos...there is virtually no way to remove those ... Good luck! I've had a lot of photos stolen and it SUCKS!

Sorry to hear that. There are people like that out there though. About a year ago, I had a girl like my facebook page as well. I clicked on her page and my pictures were in her photo album. She was saying that she could remake any of the items listed in her album. I was furious. Asked her why all of my photos were in that album..and she deleted me.

Sorry that happened to you. At least they took it down and didn't just ignore you.
