Default Is Photoshop for me?

So I need info about photoshop. I usually use Picnik and am happy with my results but HATE that I have to upload each pic, adjust each pic, save each pic and do that seemingly for HOURS. And then I have to have internet connection to even do any of that.

I always take my pics in natural light so the only thing I really need is the ability to work without internet connection, apply frames, watermarks and compress. I make frequent 8 hour (each way) trips to my family in a different state and would love to knock all of these photos out on the way there and back.

Compression is very important because my website only allows pics to be under 100kb.

And I think I read that you can apply a frame to several pics at once with Photoshop instead of doing each pic individually? And I know I read that you can create a brush with your watermark, right?

I'd appreciate any help!!

Gimp should be able to do all of that for you. You can download it for free and it runs off your desktop not the internet. It's not really easy to figure out but I don't think photoshop is either

I highly recommend Photoshop Elements. It's almost as powerful as full Photoshop, but way easier to learn, and significantly cheaper too. Right now Amazon has it on sale for $49.99. If you want it, I'd jump on it--I've never seen it that low before. Even with a rebate the cheapest I've seen it is about $60.

I like photoshop, what I did for my photography is created a file with my watermark, then with photoshop, you can set up actions. This allows you to save adjustments that you want to run on a picture so that you can run them by just pushing one button. So I have an action that will boost the colors and place my watermark. Then I can go in and set up a batch process and I can set it to open all the pictures in a folder, it will run my action (boost colors and add watermark) and then it will save them for me if I want it to. I have done up to 200+ pics at once without . It is nice to be able to walk away for awhile and come back to finished pics. 8-)
