Let's get started! Here are instructions on how to make the castle clippie:
I apologize for my lacking photography skills...(my card reader isn't working correctly, that's why there's a line through some of them!)
1. Gather your materials:
2 1/2 inches of 7/8" pink grosgrain ribbon (or in any color you choose)
1 inch of 7/8" pink grosgrain ribbon
1 inch of 7/8" pink grosgrain ribbon
1 inch of 7/8" brown grosgrain ribbon (though other sizes of brown ribbon will also work)
1/2 inch of brow grosgrain ribbon
1 1/2 inches of 3/8" purple grosgrain ribbon
1 1/2 inches of 3/8" purple grosgrain ribbon
Sissors
Hot glue (or fabri-tac)
Fray check (or heat seal)
2. Seal all edges of ribbon.
3. Using the 2 1/2 inch of 7/8" pink ribbon, fold over each of the edges and glue. Then, fold up the bottom of one side (a tiny bit!) and glue in place. This is your "castle body".
4. Take one of the 1 1/2 inches of purple and fold over one side to make a triangle shape and glue, then do the other side over it. Trim the edges and seal.
5. Glue your purple triangle in the middle of one of the 1 inch strips and fold the pink ribbon edges over to make a cylinder shape. You have a tower!(Repeat this step for the other tower).
6. Glue the towers to each side of the "castle body".
7. Using the 1/2 inch of brown ribbon, cut out tiny rectangles and seal. Glue these to the towers (as windows).
8. Using the 1 inch of brown ribbon, cut out a "U" shape and seal the edges. Glue this to the middle of the castle body. Now you have a castle door.
The possibilities are endless! You can make castles in any color combination and they can be attached to a lined clippie, pin or french clip. Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll be glad to help.
Enjoy!
