Default Easy version of cherry made of velvet ribbon

I used to make this for big layer bow center but I think it will look good/OK on clips too, and it's quick and very easy too make.
It should be made of velvet ribbon not grosgrain or satin as the thickness of velvet ribbon help, also the pattern.

I use approx 6" long 3/8" red velvet ribbon here. The length of the ribbon may vary depending on how big you want the cherry to be. Of course you can use other colour , burgandy, magenta, cranbery red etc.

1/ make a knot from the ribbon like pictured

2/ Twist one end a bit so the right side of the ribbon of both tails appearing on top , pull two ends and make a very tight knot. You'll have this:

3/ Make another loop the same way

4/ Make sure the second knot wrapping over the first one, not turning to the back side. YOu'll have this:

5/ Keep doing it until you get the size of the cherry you want.
6/ Last step for the cherry itself: If your velvet ribbon is 100% polyester (like mine) , when you finish knotting, cut the ribbon very shot and heat the 2 end with alighter and quickly press, the melted ribbon will stick to the ribbon ball.
If it's not 100% polyester, you can simply glue the two ends to the back.

Because of the pattern of the velvet ribbon, all of the folds will blend nicely and you won't see it too clearly.

7/ Make the stem and leaf the size you want using this technique I posted here once except instead of making a double leaves you make a single one.

my version of tulip bow. what do you think?
Steps 14-24. You will want to cut the stem very thin.
8/ Glue your leaf and cherry to the stem.
Here it is:

It'll take you at most 2 minutes!

Thanks for reading this.
Lynn

Love it! I'm such a sucker for velvet ribbon, and I love how you crease the leaves. So simple, but there's no way I would ever think of that!

Thanks so much!
