toddler sun dress lengths

i am sewing up some of those shirred fabric sun dress but need measurements for lengths. i found the chest and height (from head to toe) for 24 mth to 4T, but i dont know how long to make the dress. i measured one of maddie's 2T dresses and then just took off 3" for 18-24 and added 3" for 3T and 6" for 4T--but they look too long. does anyone have the lengths that i should be doing? it would be from under the arms to about knee length. maddie is short--so i cant measure on her!

I don't sew, but Chloe is a 3T. I could measure one of her dresses? Or would that help at all?

is you average for her age?

could you measure from under her arm to her knee for me?

I measured like 8 dresses and they are ALL 17 inches from under the arm to the hem. I just measured Chloe and she must be average height, as she was 17 inches from under the arm to her knee!

i was definitely making them tooooo long--i had the 3T at 21"--so thank you soooooooooo much for doing that for me

ronda--is that from under the arms to the knee?

when i look at a size chart--it shows that from each year--there is about a 3" height growth--so i was just going to add/subtract 3" for each size---so would 21" be too short for a 4T? it is just from the arm pit to the knee that would 21".

Some of the lengths are from shoulder to knee or mid-calf - maybe that was where the 21" came into play?? Just a thought!
