I do not know ANYTHING about sergers but when the tension is off on my original plain jane Singer - it is always bunching up and too loose on the back of my designs!

I hope you can figure it out!

Sounds like the tension to me. Here's the best way to describe it over the phone/over the internet:

- Find your manual and set the tension dials according to the directions inside.

- The threads on the back of the fabric come from the lower loopers. Starting with one of them, adjust it, 1/2 a number's worth until the thread is snug against the fabric but not so tight that it bunches the fabric up or pulls the threads from the top around to the back.

- Adjust the other looper, 1/2 a number's worth until you get the same results.

- If the threads on top are affected and start getting pulled underneath, adjust those dials the same way, one at a time, until the stitching is evenly spaced and 'looks right.'

Hope that helps!

The seger was given to me as a gift without manual. I did find the piece of paper on how to thread it. I was threading it wrong! I cannot believe myself. Definatley a blonde moment

sergers are hard with a manual! It's not a blonde moment if you don't have the instructions! My serger always breaks down/unthreads/looses tension. And I have the manual. Good luck! Hope you figured it out. Post pics of what you're making!
