Question Trying to figure out how to secure these straps.

I cannot think of a way to sew the straps where I can still tie a bow. Help???

This is a picture of my DH and sweet Livvie right after the dress was finished! That red hair!!!

I'm not really sure what you're asking, since it appears your dress is both sewn and tied. Maybe I don't know what you mean by "secure."

Love the dress, love the fabric, and your daughter is a doll!

Thank you, thank you, & Thank you. I worked really hard on the last one. I think I did a great job myself. I had a little help from DH if I must give credit. LOL!

I had tied the straps to take a photo, but she keeps untying them. DH doesn't want her "B**bies" to show. LOL!

I think a lot of people sew stationary straps on the dresses and then tack pre-tied bows onto the straps. Know what i mean?

For my girls, I tie a knot at the length I want the straps and then tie the bow on top. That way, as they grow I can let the straps out (I make my dresses longer than average so they won't grow out of them so far). It has worked really well for me. It prevents the untying and falling off, as well as the bows slipping out. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much! I did not think to tie a knot first and then tie it! I was thinking about how she would grow into it if its sewn. Thank you so much.

You are welcome. She is just adorable in the dress. I went shopping for material yesterday and saw that pattern and was tempted. I ended up getting some other options instead but still love the brown and blue combo.
