So cute! I don't know how to sew. I used to sew baby blankets, but those were easy! I doubt I will ever be good enough to know what you are talking about in your instructions!! lol

Cute top!

That is funny. I just posted a pic in the Sewing Gallery of my first shirred item too.

I actually used a couple different tutorials to learn. It is really easy once you get the hang of it.

One of them is on Portabello Pixie's blog under her Shir Madness Tutorial link on the right.

This is something I love but so afraid of doing. I bought a spool of Guetermanns elastic ona spool and that is as far as I have gotten. LOL You did a great job and will refer back to your tut when I get enough courage to try. I love the look, I really do. What store did you get your elastic thread from?

Uh, it's just the cheap stuff, lol. I've bought from Hancocks, Wal-Mart, JoAnn's, and Hobby Lobby - wherever I happen to already be shopping.

Cute top,you are right it is very easy. I got instructions on the web and put off making top because I too was to scared to do it. But it is so easy! Made my niece a cute top today, will have to post a pic soon as I can. I am in love with it,once you try it you will be addicted.
The instructions I got said the way to figure out how much fabric you need is to take your chest measurements and double this. This should give you the right amount of fabric, worked fine for me.
Try it,you will love doing it.
