Default A crafty proposal for someone...

I have tons and tons of vintage European linens. By tons, I mean THOUSANDS of pieces! I am fixin' to head to a big antique show, but I can easily get more of this stuff. So.... I have an idea...

I can sew, but not well enough to do what I want to do with this. I want someone who is creative, artistic, and a good seamstress. I want to repurpose some of these linens and make CUTE kid's clothes.

I can send you a nice, fat package of linens to choose from. you can cut, sew, destroy, whatever to your heart's content. You can keep 1/2 of whatever you make. I want something CUTE for my daughter (who knows what that means. ), so this is my trade-off. I "pay" you by providing your materials. You just send me 1/2 of whatever you make. I'll have to provide whatever measurements are appropriate for my daughter.

I'm actually also very interested in making CUTE women's vintage clothing. So I'm game for this too. The same "rules" apply. You make something for yourself, and you make something for me.

I live in College Station, TX. Jenny- I know you live here and sew. Are you game?

So...obviously, this proposal is based on trust. Please make sure you can do this, if you respond.

Anyone? Anyone???? This idea is burning a hole in my brain! don't make me whip out my own sewing machine. LOL

Vintage linens! I LOVE vintage linen. Do you have a good idea of what you want? Do you have specific ideas of what you want? pictures or patterns? how old is the child I'd be sewing for? PM me. I might be interested. I don't have a girl to sew for, but would you mind if I made myself some home decor with the 1/2 I keep? what do you mean by vintage women's clothes? you've peeked my interest.

You know, I can tell you that I'm 100% open to ANYTHING! I really don't even know what I mean.... I just know crafty women have gobs of ideas. I'm willing to roll the dice and see what y'all come up with!

Bags and Bows: If you make a home decor item (or even a bag). I want one too! Whatever you like and make WELL, then I'm game.

J2Garnett: I'm totally willing to split up stuff. Like I said, I have THOUSANDS of these pieces. We just washed 18 double/triple oversized loads yesterday. It's probably 1/6 of what I have in stock. Seriously. Can you imagine all the crappy ironing I have to do???????????? LOL

Most European linens are white. I figure that y'all can dye them if you want. I don't mind at all! You get total free rein. I have ones that have TONS of embroidery, most have some sort of lace. I have a few pinks, blues, and beiges. Some of the beiges I suspect are unbleached linen. The others I suspect are tea dyed. I don't know for sure though. Most of these items are German or French. Most are from the 40's and 50's.

I figured that you (someone) can even make baptismal gowns.

I'm drooling over here! Do you run an antique business? How do you get your hands on so many linens? I'm definately game to play around. PM me and we'll work out the details. I don't think I can sleep, I can't wait find a good idea!

She probably is looking for another person - I had to drop out as we think it will cost too much for shipping back and forth to me here in 'Oz
