I satin stitch my appliques but you may also leave them as is or paint the appliqued edge. Very timely for St. Patty's Day. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but - the stitch around the appliqué...is that done with an embroidery machine?

Certainly NOT a stupid question. I use my regular sewing machine and use a tight zig-zag stitch (satin stitch) to secure the applique.

You are truly amazing. I love it that the crafts of sewing and such have not yet died. I remember that was one of the first things my grandparents made sure to teach me. I was always helping making quilts, dresses, and whatever else was made. What can I say, I am a country bumpkin.

You did an awesome job on the appliqued shirt. I tried doing an initial on my dd shirt and it was just a nightmare lol. Working with T-shirt fabric is very tricky. What kind of needle did you use on your machine??

I have a Brother, just a plain old-no bells and whistles- sewing machine.
