I am trying to make some burp cloths with the tri-fold diapers. I have done the "inside out" method, and now they are ironed and ready to be finished. I am having trouble with sewing them to close them off. Do you just sew the ends? Do you sew along all the edges of the material? I am also having trouble with the material bunching up. Is that a tension problem? If so, how do I fix it (I have no idea what the numbers on the tension dial mean and can't find my machine's manual). Please help!!!

You probably need to use a walking foot to prevent bunching. When you're sewing layers like a blanket or burp cloths, it makes it a lot easier.

I am not sure it is a tension problem but if it was you would want to loosen your tension (lower number). If your stitch looks normal on the top and bottom side you could rule out tension.

Here is walking foot info. I have never used one. Might be worth trying though.

my mom uses a walking foot when she puts the binding on her quilts and when she does the "stitch in the ditch" method of quilting (not her fave)
