Default Machine sewing bows?

Does anyone run their bows through their sewing machine instead of hand sewing? I think I'm going to test it out today for some fabric bows that I want to make.

What didn't turn out when you tried it? I think using a 'hump jumper' on the back of the presser foot would help.

It's a useful little block of plastic that you put under the back of the presser foot when you go over a thick seam or are starting into something thick. It keeps the pressure even on the fabric so that it will feed into the machine without causing knots or broken thread/needles.

Question Re: Machine sewing bows?

Did you try it? Did it work? My name is Becky and recently started making bows, my problem is that I have rheumatoid arthritis and it's sometimes hard for me to hand see them. If sewing by machine works and looks good then that may be what I'll have to start doing. Also, what do you know about using starch? Have you ever used it, when do you spray it on korker ribbon (before baking or after you take them off dowel rods). Thank you for any help you give me.

That's my problem, too. I have carpal tunnel and fibromyalgia, so it can be difficult to sew anything by hand anymore.

I'll give it a shot later today hopefully. I think you should be able to secure the middle of the bow, and if you know how you could also sew on buttons with the machine. (lower the feed dogs, take off the foot, put down the lever for the presser foot, set to a zig zag, and slowly sew.)
