I'm going to try to make a filled tutu. I've looked at them and they look pretty easy. I hardly ever sew so I need a little help. How do I kinda bunch up the skirt around the elastic? I want to kinda scrunch/bunch so that it looks a little more full. Do I just pin it? I'm also going to be using 1.5 inch satin ribbon to fold over and sew onto the waist to hide where I've sewn. I still want it to be stretchy like my regular tutus. I would need to scrunch that also right? Does this sound like it will work and does anyone have any additional tips?

You need the length of the tulle to be probably at least 3 times the measurement of the waist and then gather it to make the poofyness and stretchiness in the waist.

Thank you so much. That was going to be my next question. I didn't think of it until after I wrote the others. I'm glad you told me because I would've done much less than that. I have a sewing machine but have only used it maybe 2 times in 3-4 years. I'm pretty much new to sewing anything.

How do you make this kind of tutu? I've only seen instructuions for the knot tying ones!
Our daughters first birthday is approching faster than I think! LOL (Aug. 14) I just made her hair clips, but want a cute tutu for pictures.

Thank you ladies! Always a pleasure...
