Rouching ?

Does anyone know how to do this? the tute I found has it hand sewn and I'm not really into that because of the time it takes. Does anyone know of a good *preferably free* tute for a machine one? tia

lol ... no hand sewing!! I suck at hand sewing
For rouching I use elastic.
I put the elastic on the spot I want to rouch.. just a small length of it.
Then I start a straight stitch in the middle of the elastic ,and I pull the elastic as I go , the material gathers onto the elastic and there you have it. rouched

Thanks! Now how do I sew that onto something I'm making? Sew over the line that I sewed the elastic on the fabric? Sorry I'm trying to rack my brain to figure this out.
