Consignment Sale bag promotions

It's me with another promotion question. I see that several of the consignments sales around here (well- closer to Atlanta) offer you the opportunity to place something in the customer bags. Some allow bus cards but the one that would have the prosmisng customers requires that you add a "tangible benefit" to the card. They put your item in 200 bags for $40.

Has anyone ever done anything like this? Did it work for you?

What could you include 200 of that would not cost you an arm and leg and weeks to make? I thought about simple clips, but goodness taht's still a lot of work.

I am only considering this sale because it seems to be very high end. They don't allow any discount or department store brand clothing - just name brand items. I figure the moms probbaly have the $ to spend on bows.

Any thoughts?

I would say basic clippies attached to your biz card would do. You have to spend money to make money. 200 aligator clips is $10, and I can make 8 basic clippies out of 1 yrd 3/8 ribbon. Thats only 25 yrds of 3/8 ribbon. Michelle is having a sale on her new prints right now and some stuff is on clearance. That only $5-10 for ribbon. Roughly about .10 each plus your time.

I don't think it's that bad. You have to spend money to make money, and what better way to get the word out than to give away free clippies

I have done a discount to my store on any one item and attached a piece of candy to the card.
