Default Probably a dumb question....

I have not made this kind of bow, with all the pieces of ribbon.
I am not sure about how this green dot ribbon has been put on. It almost looks like it is straight up and down, rather than layed in an "X". I drew two black lines on the ribbon, so will someone please tell me which one of this is right?
Just seems to me that green ribbon is laying to vertical to have been criss crossed.
Hope my question makes sense. LOL

Your "X" has to be shaped more like:
\/
/\

than X (when pinching/tying/gathering from top to bottom). Play around with the angles your ribbons are sitting at. You'll get it!

I think it is how you hold it and tie it.

ok, not to steal the thread, but if I may ask, when you put that many spikes on you bow do you put them all together, crease, and tie, or do you do a few at a time then stack them? I hope that makes sense, I have tried stacking lots together and I can't get it to look nice... TIA

I find that after I put my bow alltogether, it is easier to shape the spikes wehre I want them to go and they will stay better. I guess cause it is all tight and then it will stay. HTH!

I do mine in layers. I attach the three (two form an x and then one straight across) Sew or wire those together. Then I do two more (like the green dot) angel those and wire or tie them seperately. Now I have three "units" to assemble. 1 is the bow 2 the ones placed like the green dot and 3 is the other spikes.

Not sure if that makes sense or not. Then you just start to stack each unit or layer. Add your extras like loopys or whatever you want.

It's easier to hang on to everything this way. Just keep working at it. It will get easier.

Yes, that is the right bow type.
