Default ? about tying bows with wire...

I just purchased the BBM and was wondering what size/weight of wire is used if you tie with wire? I have never tried the wire and thought I would give it a shot. TIA for all replies.

I have used small floral wire. It is real cheap at walmart. I think I paid like a $1 something.

I get the 26 and 30 gauge from Michael's. I tend to use the 26 (thicker) more for grosgrain and 30 for satins.

I use upholstery thread as well. The downside is keeping it tight while tying the knot in the thread.

That might be why some people use the wire.
