Default What type of felt to use for...

...embroidered felt hair clippies. I've just gotten my machine (a Bro se-350) up and running and bought several designs from GGDesigns. My question is which type of felt would be best? I know the cheap, cheap craft felt is out but I'm not sure if eco-felt or 100% wool or a wool blend. The options are mind boggling and too expensive to try everything! I'd eventually like to retail a few finished clippies and maybe wholesale felt die cut shapes, I also have an AccuQuilt. Thank you all so much! This website has been so awesome & inspirational.

you might want to check out this section of the board . . . tons of really smart/talented folks & they might be able to help . . . or already posted the answer.

iirc . . . most of them like the wool felt - not sure of the % mix.

I don't have an embroidery machine, but for die cut felt shapes, I use a wool blend felt. You can get wool blend felt from Kate's craft store for $1.50 a sheet, and the eco felt is usually only about $.30 a sheet or so at Michael's or Joann. Maybe just get one sheet of each and try them out to see how they work?

I'm allergic to wool, so I bought the felt that Joann's sold by the yard. Just wish it came in more color varieties, but it is nicer than the stuff they had in sheets.
