I am a little different, I don't like to sell online, my facebook is for my local customers to be able to see photos and communicate with me between shows. I have a whole huge 80 something fans, but they are all fans that have liked my page from a card I gave them or from being referred by a friend.
But if you are looking for local fans here is what I do...
I hand out business cards, do local shows, and donate to lots of events. It isn't as fast as some of the online methods, but since I want local customers I am willing to take my time and get what I want in the end!
Same here. My local fans are very good customers!!!!! My best fans come to me slowly and are friends of friends of friends, etc. I get my best fans from bow parties and word of mouth, though some of my most regular customers, aren't my FB fan for some odd reason. At first it bothered me that I didn't have a lot of fans and I didn't get more faster. Then I realized, I have really good "quality" fans over "quantity" of fans.
