Thumbs up Tutorial for ribbon wreath...

Ladies,

I saw this tutorial for a ribbon wreath while looking at ideas for Halloween decorating. Maybe it's not a new concept but I like the look if not the color and execution of the embellishments.
http://bowdabrablog.com/2011/09/21/c...ribbon-wreath/

The black makes me think of death...well I guess that's part of the point but the bow and flower seems too happy to be on there! Anyhoo, the reason I am sharing is I think this would beautiful if done in ribbon scraps, all red ribbon, hot pink/lime green/bright orange OR all classic green for St Patty's day!

Now 50 yards of ribbon seems like a lot to me for 1 12" wreath...is it just me or shouldn't you use 7/8" and use less?

Love to hear your creative thoughts about this wreath!

Thanks,
Jamie

Love the look but that is a LOT of ribbon to use in one project. I don't think i would ever make one.

It is nice, but I don't think I would want to you that much ribbon for one project....maybe scraps or scrap fabric....same concept though

My other thought was how are you going to keep all that ribbon from fraying if you cut it with pinking shears? That is a lot of fray check to use too. Fabric would be better I think.

I think 50 yards of skinny ribbon would convert to less yardage of thicker ribbon. IMO but still have a similar look.I have this on my never ending someday....list!

Yes for the 4th! and verteran day, memorial day, labor day, 9/11, there are tons of days you could use the americana wreath for!

YEs I think cutting with a wood burner wood be better! You could use NBNG's new template....http://nobownogo.com/index.php?main_...91ee467624f974 to put a fancy edge on it if you had the time.

But I do like the fabric idea too! Or the combo...
