Default Shabby flowers- How to back them?

Just got some of my first shabby flowers.. Was wondering what you all back them with when attaching to a clip or making a headband? Also, is there any certain way to cut them off the tulle that they come on?

I cut the mesh really close with embroidery scissors and then use a lighter to carefully burn off any left over bits. I use self adhesive felt circles from bitsybands.com to attach to the back. Hth!

Back them with felt circles, you can usually get those at hobby lobby with the hair clips and headbands, or you can get them here online!

thread snips are also a great cutting tool for the s/flowers . . . i used to cut them apart & then trim . . . but now i go down one side and up the other side & then cut them apart = much faster!

i sometimes back them w/the 5 petal flowers offered in the group buys . . . the leopard flowers look great on the back of these . . . kinda like an unexpected touch!

I use my smallest scissors to trim away that tulle and then use wood burning tool (carefully) to melt the little edges that stick out. It seems to work well, but I confess that it takes forever! I wish there was a faster way.
