Default What would you make for dancers

I was invited to do a dance convention and sell my bows and bottlecaps. I am all set with bottlecaps, but I am wondering what else you might make for dancers. It is dance of all types, not just ballets.

So far I have all the usual stuff, bows, clippies, headbands, flowers, sculptures as well as crocheted ballet bun covers. Anything else you can think of?

Before i read your post i thought crocheted ballet bun covers! lol but you already said that,,,, Leg warmers are something all the dance girls love... can you bring things you didnt make? Laylei just modeled awesome leg warmers with a chiffon ruffle at the bottom, they were really cute!

I know this isn't indicative of what all dancers wear, but I've noticed on Dance Moms, that one little girl wears an ostrich puff a lot. I think they sell well in general, and I've sold many to local dance moms.

I have noticed a lot of my dancer girls like the ponytail streamers. Good luck!

I am a dance educator as well as a dance mom (and a hair accessory addict!) I teach at 2 studios, and right now it is a big trend to have a small clip in the front (many of the girls wear a low bun with a side part) and then a coordinating bow in the back over the bun. This is popular with girls from kindergarten through jr high.

The older girls (jr/sr high) also love the singed fabric flowers. I made them as part of a costume piece for our dance concert last year and the girls still wear them for everyday and to class.

Many studios have a dress code for the type of leotards and warm-ups that are permitted in class BUT there is nothing said about hair accessories. So while our kids have to stick with the same leo for everyone, they can express their style and mood with their hair accessories.

My daughter is a dancer so I am exposed to dancers 6 days a week! What I've noticed is the girls love all things animal print! They also like fabric headbands, like foe, with a flower on them to keep the hair out of their face.

Something you may want to try is a snood (I think that's what it's called). It is a bow attached to a french clip with a hair net/bun cover attached to it. That way the girl doesn't really have to put her hair into a real bun if it's too short. All she has to do is put it in the bun cover without using bobby pins and you're set. I am not very good at describing things, so let me know if I'm not clear and maybe I can find a pic for you.

I do know what you mean. I am pretty sure I could take one of my ballet bun covers and adapt it. I have some clips at home.

my 3 girls dance (and ds but only hiphop) so the older girls love headbands which is a must because it has to keep the hair out of their eyes. So my girls will wear the foe headbands with flowers. Oh the glitter headbands would be great (I need to get some for my girls) also clippies, they are big with the older crowd. My younger dd wears bows or anything. Not so much leg warmers because they complain that its too hot to dance with them on but they wear them outside in the cold weather. Also, if you cater to all dance styles we find that you can find alot of ballet but nothing in tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop. Also, bottle cap necklaces or key chains. Or something for water bottles (so they can identify them) would be great. I'm a dance mom but not like the crazies on tv.
