Default Basic "Bowtie" shape bow tutorial

Does anyone know of a good tutorial for a basic "bowtie"-shaped bow? I'm not sure what this shape is traditionally called, but it's very simple looking in design, like two triangles stacked pointy-side to pointy-side, sometimes with a tail and sometimes without. I've seen some in a very large size for adults, and also in a itty-bitty size for infants...

Thanks for any help and/or links to tutorials or sites.

It sounds like you are talking about a tuxedo bow. Use the search button at the top of the page and you should get a ton of info on those! hth

Thanks so much! I did some searching, and it looks like there are two different types of "Tuxedo" bows--the loopy kind that goes on a clippy, and the the kind that more closely resembles a bow-tie, like what I was looking for. I found a couple of tutorials, but none that show me how to get really good creases, and that's what's driving me nuts! Argh! Anyone have any suggestions on getting nice and even creases in my tuxedo bows?

Thanks!

Some one once posted a link to a tut on youtube on how to do a really good crease. I can't find it just yet. I will keep looking. Hopefully someone else will chime in in the meantime!

I use the tut from hip girls. Not sure if this is what you needed or not.

You can use a needle and thread and do 3 stitches from bottom to top, pull the thread to make your crease. Take your thread to the back of the bow and wrap from back to front, bottom to top if that makes sense.

Okay, so...do I start the first stitch really close to the edge of the ribbon?

And, thank you so much!

I start in just a little bit, make three even stitches space evenly apart
