Default Ladybug Tutu

I have a friend that's wanting me to make her little girl a ladybug tutu for Halloween and was planning on making a solid red tutu with black spots on it. What do you all think would be good for black spots and how should I attach them? I'm thinking large black "pom poms"... Do you think that would work and look cute? Would I hot glue them onto the tulle? Also, where would I find tulle wholesale? I usually buy from Hobby Lobby because I don't make a lot of tutus, but would like to find it somewhere cheaper... Thanks!

Hobby Lobbys tulle is on sale this week so with not having to pay shipping it makes it pretty cheap. I use the pompoms on mine, I've seen others use felt circles, to attach I usually use hot glue.

I use felt and hot glue make sure to separate the tulle so that the glue is only on the first layer or it will seep through all the layers and make them all stick together here's a pic of mine with the felt

I used glittery felt circle for my ladybug TuTu, bc it matched the wings Im using. I thought it turned out lovely. Im at work and cannot upload a pic, but will try later.

I use glitter foam cut into circles and then I hot glue them on. I use two per spot - one for the top and then I put one under the top one to keep the hot glue from getting on the rest of the tutu.

Here is one I made last year.

I made a ladybug tutu dress a while back. I did the bottom layer of tulle black, then double layers of red on top.

I glued on black felt circles all around and it was a hit. (I used a silicone spatula and put it behind the layer of tulle and glued the circle on...protected the other layers and my fingers from the hot glue

Heres a pic of mine
