Default Stacked bows or multiple layer bows

I am not using any templates to make my bows right now. Just the figure 8 method. When I do multiple layer bows with spikes I find it very hard to hide the bulk in the middle when I put the last stripe of ribbon that attaches the bow to the clip. I mean, it looks too thick. I don't use centers or decorations on all my bows.

What are your tips to make a perfect stacked multiple layer with spikes without using a template? I am planning on ordering the template but while it arrives I need to continue making bows for my Etsy Shop.

whatever your using to tie it with it too thick.. try something thinner.you can also switch how to tie it so the bottom bow tie in the front or back but do oppisite for the spikes and top bow : )

The center will always be pretty thick, but the best way I've been able to minimize the bulkiness is by taking a wire, after i've glued together the layers, and wrapping it really tight. I know some people don't glue, and will just wrap, but I like the added security..

I glue and tie my stacked bows, but I find the same problem still. My solution is to hide with a center piece.

What are you using to secure your bows? I agree, it may be too thick. I use elastic cording or embroidery thread and sometimes upholstery thread as it is thin and secure enough to hold. I then glue my pieces together and before adding my ribbon center I once again secure all pieces with cording. Just be sure to PULL TIGHT! I have never had issues with mine being too bulky in the middle.

I will try to post the pictures tomorrow when I take them to post then on etsy. I use thread to tie the spikes and the bows and then I glue everything and tie again sometimes. Then I cover the middle with the ribbon that attaches to the clip. My problem with some bows is when I do the knot style in the middle since the knot won't cover everything. Sometimes I cover it with a center piece (button, resin, etc.)
