Default I will be grateful for ANY advise!

I have been making bows for almost a year and people seem to love them. I constantly get compliments but I am just not in love with my work (especially once I look at all your talent!) Anyway, my main problem with my bows is that I think they are too wide. My loops are never even all the way around. The top two match and the bottom two match but my bows just seem to stretch out horizontally. Not sure if any of this makes sense but I am attaching a few pics of my work and hopefully you will see what I mean.

what method are you using to fold your bows? I have used the figure-8, and sometimes I get the same result.

I had no luck with the figure 8 method either no matter what clip I used to hold it.

I did the same thing and just use homemade cardboard templates. After I made the templates I got more speedy and consistant.

It might just be the angle of the pictures, but a couple of them seem like they need to be tighter in the centers. Also, if you put a finger in each loop and pull towards the center and upwards, you get a fluffier look. The tighter they are in the middle, the more the loops stand up (at least for me.)

Sorry, someone who remains nameless, dropped my camera and I can't take pictures to show you. There are some great tutes on Youtube that show this part though.

Have fun with it!

Something else to consider are the templates you can purchase. The templates also come with instructions on how to use them for tbb and cbb. These will help you be consistent.

I use the figure 8 method. I think know where your problem is if I could just explain it. I am horrible at explaining! After you have marked your center and made the figure eight...are your loops wide or skinny? They need to be skinny. Or at least that works best for me. The more "open" your figure eight is the wider your bow will horizontally. The more skinny the loops the taller it will be. Make any sense...?? Here is a photo of what is am trying to say LOL! HTH

Also... I dont know if you use a salon clip or not but they work great to hols everything in place while you stitch!
