Post Hairspray ?'s

I've seen in several threads that hairspray works for keeping your ribbon stiff or perky but i had a couple questions about it...

Is there a certain type or hold strength you need use?
How many prefer it over starch?
And is it faster than using starch?

I had been using starch (until my cat knocked the bottle off my table while I was gone and my dog had the strange desire to destroy the spray bottle ) and I didn't have any problems with it except the time it took to dry or bake it.

I would say cheap hairspray works fine. I would not bake it because it is flammable. It dries faster than starch. I personally use starch but I have used hairspray when I run out of starch. Hairspray makes your bows smell pretty too!!

It is faster than starching and I use extra hold. I will still bake mine tho to give extra oomph!
