Default dye your own FOE?

Anyone Dye your own Foe?

I'm thinking of purchasing a 200 yd spool of white and coloring it myself.

Just curious how it works out for you. I have died other elastics with RIT, so I would assume it would be okay.

Here's what I did this morning...

The one on the right on the roll is the one I purchased, the one on the left I dyed with Fuschia Rit.

I think it's looks pretty darn good!

Wow, I like yours better. Looks like I'm gonna start dying my own elastics. Did u use the liquid or powder? I like the idea that you can save the dye and use it a few times, saves money in the end.
I have also heard that tulip fabric dye works well, for anyone who doesnt like rit

I used the powder... I just threw the piece in a pickle jar (clean) with hot water, and sprinkled a little rit in there...
