Default HOW To Ideas: Line Crochet Tops and Dresses

I have lots of these and have made them with wide crochet. My question is for those of you who have created them and lined..

What do you use under the crochet to line them? I wonder if anyone does. I would love to pick up something that I could make an additional under-layer from if possible.
Maybe a knit tube top?

I've wondered this as well, but like you, knit is the only solution I can think of. Love to know if you try it and it works!

Would that work? I wonder how it would attach or hold up. There really doesn't seem to be a solution unless you go ahead and pull a tank top and cut and resew I think LOL. But I may give this option a shot to see what happens

I've used knit for mine, works for me with no problem(as long as I remember to use it in the right direction, there's been a couple times I've gotten it sewn on and realize it's not stretchy because I did it sideways)
Here's a couple pics of the lined ones.

These look great.
But you said the word. Knit.
I wouldn't mind on my old sewing machine but just switched and it gives me the heeby jeebies when I hear the word

I expected just using regular knits would work well but I wanted to stay away from using them. They may be the best though. Your dresses are beautiful.

What about knit interfacing? It's fusible, so not quite sure how you would iron it on, but it exists.

Looked up. I had seen pellon (or however you spell it) used in the past but now I can't remember the application. I would love to see it again.
I think it's gonna be a late night with popcorn and google/videos this evening. I wanna see what it'll be like.
maybe a run to the store tomorrow to see.
Interested to see how the outer part of the crochet looks if the fusible part is in there. I don't want it peeking out.
One day I will find the solution that fits my interest here. This week hopefully LOL. Will post pics or info on how this works out.

I found a knit tube material in Jo-anns, I actually used it to make a belly band since even my maternity tops don't cover my bump, but I'm guessing it would work well for this sort of thing. It came in black and white, and might have come in other colors, I can't remember, but guessing the white can also be dyed.
I don't know if buying it from there is a very economical option, but just thought I'd mention it!
