I have been making pageant dresses for years and found the trick .I use airbrush paint mix it in tub or bowl of water till you get right color dip item and dry . I use my dryer it does leave color in dryer but easy to clean out. I use the neons to get the most beautiful colors make sure you mix paint in well and after taking item out fluff in towel sometimes you may have to repeat a few times I have not tried to do black but have done nearly every other color. If you need help Pat [email protected]

Ooh, let me know how this comes out. I've been wanted to try to dye my chiffon flowers and would love to know how this turned out.

Chiffon cannot be dyed. It won't hold dye as with other nylon based fabrics. Nylon is basically woven plastic...RIT Dye and most other off-the-shelf dye will not work.

So keep that in mind when shopping for fabrics next time. I hope the other suggestion above helps you somewhat. But I wouldn't sell any clothing that had paint added to the dye.

Have you tried just using an airbrush? I've only used mine a couple times but it seems like a good solution for flowers. I bet you could get some gorgeous color combinations!

The paint drys and does not come off ever unless you tried scaping hard It works on chiffon it works on lace and works on ribbon but does make it stiff. I would rather use paint then dye . I have used it on chiffon pageant skirts and tulle and organza ....
