I am a mommy to a little boy so I can not get inspiration from little girls clothes, so I mainly get it from patterned ribbon. I love to buy all of the pretty textered/patterned ribbon from HL.

This may seem silly, but I have a sheet of matching colors that I have put together. For some reason I can not tell if colors look good together until after it is made. Anytime I find colors together that I think is perfect, I write them down. Next time I want to make an orange bow, I already know what colors I have seen with it and what looked good.

I love all of these responses! I have started writing down colors recently, as well.. That way I'm not trying to remember what I saw and loved. I have too much to remember already..
I think the hard part for me, is that I am on such a tight budget getting this thing started that I'm trying to draw inpiration for what I already have, and go from there.. for now, at least. That way, while I'm building up what I've already got to start building a FB page and website.. I have variety, but also some concrete bows.
My little one is starting kinder in a few weeks, so we went clothes shopping yesterday, and I found some great inspiration there as well. Lately, I've been getting on clothing websites, and saving pictures of outfits and such.
I find that sometimes it's not the question of which color, but it can be how much of this color as opposed to the other.

I sit down with my ribbon all scattered on my table and sometimes color combos just "pop" out for me, so I try them. Sometimes they work and sometimes not so much. I did a yellow and pink Dora one last week that is probably one of my favorite bows ever, and it wasn't my favorite color combo to start with. lol!
