I've only used FOE or skinny elastic so far

I am curious to know how people are attaching the foe. Are you cutting a huge circle of felt the same size as the hat to go around? What about alligator clips. It is hard to attach them without them showing when you put the hat on.

I attach the elastic to the inside of the hat and cover with a matching piece of felt.

Here is a pic of the underside of one of my hats with clips. This was the first one I ever made...I now move them as close to the inside of the hat as I can get. They still show a little bit but if you cover them in ribbon coordinating to hair color the are not noticeable at all.

I do our with clips and then cover them with felt for a finished look. I like that you can clip it anywhere instead of being stuck with it being on a headband

we glue the headband together, then glue it to felt then glue it all on the hat
