Default Making a tutu poofier?!?!?

(Hope I posted this in the right forum!! It's basically my first post)

I've started making tutus (side job) and I can't seem to find the answer for this throughout this site....

I want my tutus poofier/fuller, so I started doing TWO layers of tulle instead of 1 (and I've been doing the no sew slip knot method), but I'm wondering if there's a way too make them poofy like this one (link below) WITHOUT having to sew it.

The more tulle you use the poofier it will be.. you can fit more tulle if you don't do the knot so tight on the elastic.. plus it will keep elastic from streaching to much while you are putting on all that tulle.

But wont that make the waistband look overly large? Or is that just my only option without sewing lol

Definitely add more tulle! Also watch the quality of the tulle. Make sure you get good quality.

Totally agree! The picture doesn't do it justice, but this is a hand tied one that I made a few months ago. I only used one piece of tulle per knot, I just pull it really tight and squish the knot as close to the one next to it as possible, so I can get as much tulle in there as possible.

I squeeze my knots together so I can get as much tulle as possible in. That way the layers kind of sit on top of each other. The one I posted had an 18 inch waist and I used about 150 yards of rolled tulle in it.
