Default Has this ever happened to you.

I had a customer order layered boutique bow and i made it for her she picked it up put it on her daughter and the daughter lost it not even 1 hour later. She was pissed. Not at me. But that her daughter lost the bow.
She called me crying that her daughter had lost the bow yada yada and so on. I was like sorry. I specifically put a French clip on it because i know my kid take hers out and loses them.

Now my question what would you have told the customer.

Maybe offer her a small, one-time discount on a duplicate bow and remind her that maybe she should buy two of the same bows in the future in case it happens again.

It is awful- but I agree. It's not your fault.

AFter becoming more of a "buisness woman" I have to be a bit stronger with the way I deal with things. If it was family- I would of made another. (before opening my shop) But it's a buisness transaction- the moment the bow is paid for, it is the customers property.

I think I would have said, "oh I do bet you feel bad about that! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it turns up for you." I would have left it at that.

Now if it had fallen off the clip that would be a different story....of course you would replace it in a heartbeat.

People are so weird sometimes do you think she was waiting for you to say you would replace it?

HOw sad? I do have buyers said it was my fault. They said I should fully lined the clips. (I only partially lined). I hope it was not a ebay item, or she would probably asked for a replacement.
I had a ebay buyer came back almost 4 month after the purcahse asked me to replace the bows with new clips. I refused and she bought another item and asked me to replace "all the bows" she bought before...I refused of course.

And I got a very nasty negative feedback....

she didnt ask for a replacement. My mom answered the phone i was at boy scouts. She told her i would replace it for free. She said no it was her fault that she would come and order a replacement. Im just happy that it was a family friend. I do have another order of hers i have to make so ill probably throw in something for ordering so much. She was really happy with the bow to.

I don't even know that I would offer a discount. If she had bought it from a store and that happened, the store would be like oh well. I guess it depends on how well you know her.
