Default How to keep bottlecaps from falling off?

It seems to me that flat ones do pretty good, with just hot glue. I just recently started the trick of useing the felt furniture piece under the caps. I thought that would do it for sure. I have had a couple not stay, but I fixed them. Overall I thougt this was going to be the way to go.

I really hate to use E6000 because of the smell. I smell it on hair stuff after it dries. I guess I could spray frebreeze. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. I just had a customer pot on my facebook that she loves my stuff and buys a lot from the consignment store. But she has had some fall off. I offered to fix them and give her something for her trouble. I also asked them if they had the felt piece or not. I didn't do that in the beginning. I feel bad if other peoples stuff fell apart! I am glad she told me. But it's a little embarrasing!

Are u hot gluing felt to cap then hot glue to bow? I use E6000 industrial strength (it does smell but holds great) to glue felt to cap (let it sit 24 hours then hot glue (make sure u cover entire felt) to bow. Knock on wood I use this same process on all bows with caps & bows with caps on flip flops.

I think E6000 is going to be your best bet. When I glue bottle caps to my bows I put a dime or nickel sized amount of hot glue on the center on the cap then put it on the bow. Once it dries and cools off I take the bottle cap off and put just a little bit of E6000 on top of the hot glue and stick the cap back on, works perfect and you don't have to use soo much E6000.

Also if there are no liners in the cap hot glue works fantastically. I'm just too lazy to take all the liners out of mine.

i hate the smell of E6000. I bought some a few months back because it seemed (seems) as though everyone swears by it & that it's a great hold. So i was very excited to use it.. then i read the warnings and such about getting lightheaded & whatnot.. I was sitting in front of an open window with a fan blowing air OUT the window. i stilllll got sick! I got light headed & nauseated. it was aweful. I'm not sure how you other ladies can stand it! strong stomaches? haha
Anyways, i have the felt pads but have yet to use them. I just put a load... & i mean a LOAD of hot glue in the bottom of the cap then stick it to my bow & they have held up amazing so far.
Another way i have seen it done is hot gluing a piece of ribbon inside of the bottle cap then wrap the ribbon around the bow. Not sure if any of that helps.. probably not because i usually just end up gabbing instead of helping.... see! look at me go!
