Thumbs down E6000 not holding on braided flipflops

My braids are not holding on my flip-flops. I attached with the "amazing E6000",clipped with clothespins overnight, and they're starting to come apart. Should I apply more, or, maybe, let dry a little before attaching? Would it be better to use just E6000 (not the "amazing")? TIA

I only use E6000 to attach ribbon of any kind to flip flop straps & have never had a problem. Try using E6000 & in between double sided tape (I buy mine from Punch Place Plus), clip down with alligator clips & let glue & tape sit for 24 hours. HTH

I use E6000 and have made a ton of pairs this year and last. ANd actually I"m still wearing a pair from last year. Knock on wood, I haven't had a problem. ONes I did a few years ago woth hot glue did come off, almost immediately. Also, I'm not positive, but I think all E6000 says amazing?!?!

I have never had any problem with E-6000. I have used it several times on the ones that I have made. You can can use hot glue and gorilla super glue. It's a clear glue.

Thanks so much for all the comments. I think I may need to use more E6000 & not adhere it so fast. You all are such a great help to so many of us newbies. I have soooo much to learn & have learned so much from you all. Blessings to all.

Ok, seriously here, I really need to know how to make flip flops stay together. I see post after post of people singing the praises of e6000, and I was one of them, but it flat doesn't hold as long as I would like. What could I possibly be doing wrong? On some it holds for awhile, a couple of weeks max, then it works loose at the point and that is all she wrote, because once that point is loose the whole strap is loose within a day. AND if the shoes get wet then the story is even shorter, I don't know if it is because it is too cold, or the water, or what, but they will come loose that day.

AND (yes, lots of ands today) on the shoes that I have had for a couple of months and haven't sold yet, the ribbon is getting puckered-ish and loose around the sole.

Opinions? Thoughts? Too much glue? Not enough? I really hate, wait let me say that again HATE flip flops at this point, I want to make them so you can wear them everyday, and have them last at least through the season, but so far the best I have gotten out of a pair that is actually worn is 3 weeks!

I CAN sandwich the plastic with felt at the point and keep a bow on for an indefinate amount of time, but I want to be able to add ribbon to the straps and around the bottom also, but maybe I am wanting more than what is possible.

I only glue ribbon to the straps, have never done around the bottom. I put the glue on, add my ribbon and then put a bunch of clips all around to hold in place. I let dry for probably 24 hrs and they're ready. I use quite a bit of glue, make sure all the ribbon has glue. Like I said, I'm still wearing my shoes from last year, so I don't know any secrets, just that its working for me?!?!?! gOOD LUCK!!
