Default Re: E6000 not holding on braided flipflops

I tried (for my first time) and i used hot glue, one pair has held so far but is not being worn (for a gift) i tried the hot glue as well on a diff pair, not holding...although it has held on one of that pr, but not on other...i havent had best experiences with e6000 so far on bottlecaps so that def wasnt my first choice...not really sure where to go from here...thought about adding ribbon to the underside of the strap to glue it to the braided ribbon...it may possibly work....

I haven't done anymore flip flops, because last time I hot glue gunned a feather boa to the straps, and it came off with in a day of gluing it.....I'm sure my daughter HELPED it come off, but still!
I have thought about sewing the ribbon or feather boa to it, but I don't know if that would make it uncomfortable against the skin.

I've read several old threads on this issue and there generally seems to be 1 common denominator, location! Those in the south states are the ones that have a hard time with the E6000, I think it comes down to humidity. There are other options out there, Flip flop glue? I think you just have to try until you find something that works.

you're right . . . and one more thing i've read - the type of material the flip flop is made of . . . some contain more oil than others . . .

edit . . . maybe you could incorporate some boa/maribou with this technique . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=bOKDA5IlWKg
