Default Tutu help please!!!!!

I want to make my daughter a tutu for her first birthday. I'm concerned with the tulle I've used to make tutus before. I just bought it at Michaels, and I'm worried that it will be too itchy for her to wear in August (when her bday is). Is there a softer tulle I could use? Also, the ones I have made looked great for 20 minutes but then it got all wrinkled and stuck together and didn't look good anymore. I tried to fix it by running my fingers through it, but nothing helped. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!!

If you do a search for where to buy tulle on this forum, there are many suggestions.
Personally I buy from either atmtom (on etsy) or his website which is has the same kind of tulle (made in USA), or seasonal-decorator on ebay but he's on vacation 'til the 11th.

I never buy the rolls from Michael's/JoAnn...I buy off the bolt from JoAnn or Hancock and cut it.

Soft tulle is hit or miss depending on a ton of things including manufacturer, weave, color.
Sewn tutus will not wrinkle and bunch like hand tied and can be made off the bolt.
You are paying WAY to much if you are buying tulle at Michaels, especially if you are making more than one tutu.

Michaels sells in the imported chinese tulle.. it's scratchy..
Definitely try USA-made tulle... it's night-and-day different.

Nashville Wraps, Tulle Source, and of course, ourselves (Canada Tulle - shameless plug) sell tulle made in the USA.

As far as scratchiness in the summer, my wife used our tulle to make a tutu dress for our 4-year-old and she wore it yesterday, all day in the sun.. it was about 87F and she wore it from 8:30am until 7pm without a single complaint.

We tried the same with import tulle (product testing.. it's a must!) and she complained constantly...
