Default Fuse Spikes....huh????

I have read lots of threads on here that talk about fusing spikes together to make a layered bow, but what does that mean? They all said to use a woodburner (which I have and love!), but how do you fuse them together? In the middle? and are they layed out on top of each other? Maybe this is confusing, but I am totally confused myself. Thanks so much to anyone who can shed some light!!!

It's easy!! Just fan your spikes out how you like them, and then just poke your wood burner straight down till you burn through all the layers (sorry not to much detail....I haven't had my coffee yet this morning)

Ok! I will try that later today, but when you say 'fan' them out does that mean you put them all directly on top of each other? Or do you just slightly over lap them? And its ok to burn a hole in the middle? Crazy, but I will give it a try...thanks sooo much!

when I lay mine out, I put them all together in the order I want. Then I fold them in half, and stick a straight pin in the fold so I know I have the center. Then with the pin in place I fan them out how I want, that way it comes out evenly. Then i remove the pin and crease, but you could just skip creasing and use the woodburner in that step.

So I tried the spikes last night (not using the wood burner though because Istill don't quite understand that and it worked good, but for some reason my when I put the spikes onto the bow they seem to curve inward (in towards the bow). I would like them to lay flat because it looks funny on a childs head. Any idea why this would be happening?

Did you sew them? It is really hard to tell without knowing what you did. If you will read the entire spikes thread, there are detailed instructions on how to make spikes in a variety of ways, and there are also photographs.
